Benefits of Drinking Coffee

There is often a debate about whether drinking coffee is good for you or bad for you. The latest research seems to indicate that there are many benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. Although the research is still ongoing, the early indications are encouraging.
Type-two diabetes
There is convincing evidence that daily coffee drinkers are less likely to develop type-two diabetes. Interestingly, the various studies conducted show the same benefits whether the person drinks regular or decaffeinated coffee. It is possible that the chromium and magnesium contained in coffee helps the body use insulin more efficiently.
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease
It appears that the caffeine content in coffee helps to reduce the risk of developing Parkinson’s, although researchers are still not sure exactly how this works. Regular coffee consumption is also linked to a reduced risk of developing dementia, including Alzheimer’s. The connection is not yet clearly understood, but it does not seem to result from caffeine content.
Various forms of cancer
Studies consistently find that those who drink coffee regularly are less likely to develop some types of cancer. Drinking coffee is linked to a reduced incidence of both colon and liver cancer. More research is required to understand the direct cause and effect for this result, but it is likely related to the powerful antioxidant effects of coffee.
There are many benefits of drinking coffee. The researchers involved in these studies encourage coffee drinkers to spread their consumption throughout the day and not to drink excessive amounts of coffee. Drinking a few cups of coffee a day is safe and provides some health benefits.
